Caesars Entertainment has reportedly agreed to merge with El Dorado Resort and Casino WV, gaining exclusive rights to operate sportsbooks at all their properties. To make way for the deal, Eldorado sold Mountaineer Casino, the brand’s only property in West Virginia. Without a casino to set up base, a Caesars Sportsbook at Eldorado Casino in WV seems unlikely at the moment.

Caesars Merger with Eldorado Resort & Casino
The Caesars Entertainment brand is set to merge with Eldorado Resorts in a $17.3 billion dollar cash/stock deal. The deal will create the country’s largest casino operator, with over 60 properties in 16 states. The deal a few months after the brand agreed to give billionaire investor Carl Icahn 3 board seats.
The brand has been drowning in debt over the past decade, almost filing for bankruptcy in 2017. The company had over 50 properties in 14 states and five in countries outside America. Caesar’s long term debt stood at a whopping $8.79 billion.
Eldorado Resorts has a market value of around $4 billion and long-term debt of approximately $3 billion. The company owns 23 properties in 11 states after the sale of Mountaineer Casino WV and two other properties.
One of the key reasons Eldorado Resorts decided to merge with Caesars online casino was the brand’s name and loyalty program. The Caesars Casino 2019 name is already established in the gambling world as one of the most popular gaming brands anywhere. The loyalty and VIP programs at operator are also some of the best in the industry. Expect Eldrorado to rebrand with the Caesars WV name and apply the loyalty program to all its existing properties.
Caesars Sportsbook at Eldorado Casino West Virginia
The Mountaineer Casino was Eldorado Resorts’ only property in West Virginia. Mountaineer was also the only Eldorado Sportsbook West Virginia had to offer. Eldorado reportedly sold Mountaineer along with two other properties to Century Casinos and VICI Properties for $107 million. The deal is rumoured to have been made to make room for the merger to dump the debt.
Due to the sale, Eldorado lost its presence in West Virginia. As a result, a Caesars Sportsbook at Eldorado Casino will not be available right away in West Virginia. This will likely change as the brand pulls itself out of debt and begins to expand.
Business, as usual, is expected as Mountaineer Casino through the change in ownership. The property provides sports betting through its retail locations in partnership with William Hill. There is still no signs of the platform going online due to slow progress in meeting the standards of the Wire Act.
Caesars Online Sportsbook 2019 Bonus
Although there is currently no Caesars Sportsbooks available in WV, it seems likely brand will expand back into the state. When the brand does enter WV again, we can expect a Caesars Sportsbook Bonus to be available to all new users. The bonus could take on a variety of forms. The most likely bonus types are a free bet bonus or deposit bonus.
|Sportsbook Bonus||Bonus Details|
|First Bet Bonus||$300 Matched Free Bet Bonus|

The current sports bonus in New Jersey features a $300 matched sports free bet. This gives all new users the chance to get their first bet matched on up to $300. A similar offer if not the exact same should be available in all future sites run by the operator.
Keep in mind that certain terms and conditions will be required to be fulfilled with any bonus. Possible conditions include a wagering requirement, minimum betting odds, restrictions on deposit methods and a valid time period.
What to expect from the Caesars Online Sportsbook WV?
Before an online Caesars Casino Sportsbook will be available in WV, the brand will be required to set up a retail location. According to West Virginia law, all online sports betting sites must have a land-based version of the operator. It is still unclear when a Caesars Sportsbook at Eldorado Casino will be available in WV.
When the brand does acquire a property in WV, we can expect to see an online website similar to its New Jersey-based platform. The NJ site offers bettors a fully-functional online sports wagering experience, including the chance to bet via mobile app. A rewards program along with a number of bonuses and welcome offers are also available.
Betting Markets at Caesars Online Sportsbook
The Caesars Sportsbook at Eldorado Casino should feature the same betting markets as the New Jersey site. The NJ-based platform allows bettors to wager on all top American Leagues including the NFL, NHL, MLS, MLB and NBA. International sports such as Tennis, Soccer and Golf are also available for betting.
Types of bets available will likely include:
- Point Spreads
A live betting section should give users the chance to wager on select sporting events while they are still in-play. Odds will be provided based on the state of play.
Will there be a Caesars Sportsbook App?
If the West Virginia sportsbook goes online, the platform will likely be available via mobile app. The NJ site is currently available on both iOS and Android devices. Location settings will be required to be turned on to use the mobile app, ensuring you’re within state boundaries.
The app should provide the same functionality as the browser-based client with the added benefit of betting on the go. Quick deposits and notifications will probably be available for hassle-free payments and alerts on bets.
You can expect the Caesars online sportsbook on mobile.
Caesars Payment Options
The following secure payment options are available at the NJ site:
- Prepaid Card
- Cash at Cage
- Online banking
Any West Virginia-based site should have similar payment methods if not the exact same. The operator charges no fees on their side and provides instant deposits. Withdrawals can take 3-10 business days based on the method prescribed. Maximum and minimum deposit limits may apply for each payment option separately.
Customer Support at Caesars Sportsbook at Eldorado Casino
Customer service at operator should feature live chat, telephone and email support. Live chat will likely be available 24/7 and should provide the shortest response times. Email response times may vary based on the number of inquiries at the time. The New Jersey platform averages around 12-24 hours for email responses.
A detailed FAQ section should be available in the HELP section for answers to popular questions.
Caesars Casino Sportsbook Review Verdict
A Caesars Sportsbook at Eldorado Casino is still a long way off in West Virginia. First, the brand will be required to acquire a property in the state and then setup a retail sportsbook. An online casino can only follow after a land-based sportsbook has already been launched.
Given the complexity of the process, it may take a while before you see any Caesars Sportsbook at El Dorado Casino.
When a site does finally go live, you can expect a platform similar to that of the brand’s NJ-based site. A mobile app version of the operator should be available on both iOS and Android devices. Be sure to keep an eye out for any Welcome Offer before the brand launches for a head start.
